Simon Fraser University Rugby
The SFU Rugby Club is proud to be the oldest and longest-running club at Simon Fraser University, with roots dating back to 1965 when it was founded by SFU student Maurice Rees. From day one, the club has embodied the values of teamwork, resilience, and community, becoming a staple of campus life and a respected name in BC rugby. Since then, SFU Rugby has become a home to over a hundred students, alumni, and community members, making it the largest club at SFU.
A fully student-run and operated club, SFU Rugby has enjoyed decades of success both on the field and off. Known for its competitive drive and strong camaraderie, the club has a vibrant social culture and a rich touring history, including trips to California (1982, 1984), England and Wales (1985), and England and Scotland (1987).
With its continued growth and commitment to excellence, SFU Rugby consistently produces standout individual players, many of whom have gone on to represent at sub-union, provincial, and national levels.
